Banana Republic has assembled a group of music artists to “celebrate the richness of city life” in a new spring/summer campaign the clothing company is calling City Stories.
The print campaign features nine musicians: Grammy-winning jazz saxophonist David Sánchez; emerging jazz bassist/vocalist Esperanza Spalding; singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles; alt-rock/pop darling Liz Phair; pop/rock band OK Go; Latin singer/songwriter/producer Tommy Torres; acoustic soul star Ayo; Dashboard Confessional’s singer/songwriter Chris Carrabba and classical violinist David Garrett.
Behind-the-scenes interviews with the musicians are available for viewing on Banana Republic’s Web site, City Stories, along with unplugged performances, free music downloads and streaming music samples from the artists.
Now through June 31, Banana Republic’s City Stories will be available on RED, Virgin America’s in-flight entertainment system, as the first-ever branded channel. Passengers will get a glimpse of the campaign featuring the musicians, their interviews and unplugged performances, music videos and Banana Republic’s Spring/Summer 2009 runway show.
